Nigerian Comedian Divorce After 6 Days of marriage.


According to a report by Yes International Magazine, the marriage of a popular comedian ended just six days after he got married to his pretty wife. Here is the full report by the top Lagos-based magazine.

 Gospel comedian, Edobor Charles, aka Edo Charles, is currently in court with his wife, Vera Adiche, from Ibusa, Delta State, over some messy marital issues. YES INTERNATIONAL! exclusively gathered that the couple who tied the knots at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Victoria Island, Lagos, on November 27, 2010, lived together for only 6 days before calling it quits!

Taiye Joseph, who hawks at Iyana-Iba, along the Lagos/Badagry Expressways lamented that since he lost his father, he had no where to go as nobody was willing to help him in his educational pursuit. Taiye who hailed from Agenebode in Edo resorted to selling sachet and table water on the streets to passengers in moving vehicles.

A sausage seller, Chima Ezinwa, in his narration, lamented that the non-availability of money truncated his quest for education. "I came from a poor family and was stubborn while living with my parents," adding, "my father cautioned me to avoid street fighting so that he could sponsor my education, but I did not listen to his advice as I immediately left Ebonyi State for Lagos.

Another teenager, Mustau Ayinde, 13, told Saturday Vanguard he was asked to withdraw from JSS2 due to his mother's illness which confined her to bed. As a result, he joined the street hawking business selling foot wears at Agbara along the busy highway, though he did not disclose his future ambition.

Factional PDP Assembly Moves To Probe Edo Councils’ Allocations

The impeached Hon Festus Ebea-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction in the Edo State House of Assembly yesterday chided the state government over the three-day warning strike embarked upon by some local government council workers over issues bordering on tax deduction.

It also directed the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to release all monies accruing to the local governments from the federation account to enable them pay salaries and arrears of their workers.

The legislators also reiterated the faction’s resolution directing the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs to furnish it with receipts of revenue accruing to the councils, “failing which, the Assembly will pass a resolution directing the accountant general of the federation to stop the release of allocations to the local governments”.

General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry in a Human Ritual Mess

A ritualists’ den was, yesterday, uncovered at Ogolonto area of Ikorodu Lagos, with at least eight victims, said to have been kidnapped from different parts of the country, rescued.

One of the victims, a 52-year‑old man, who identified himself simply as Onwurah, alleged that his wife had a hand in his kidnap, saying he had spent two years in the enclave.
The den was uncovered following a foiled attempt by a mother of four to take one of her victims, a seven year‑old boy, to the den.
Vanguard gathered that the woman identified as Mrs Rosemary Chukwu, who resides at 33, Omologede Street, behind C&S Primary School, allegedly abducted the seven-year‑old primary school pupil, Emmanuel Emeka, on his way to fetch water from a public well at about 6.30 a.m.
Chukwu was alleged to have kept the boy inside her toilet and engaged her four children in a prayer session, apparently to prevent her co‑tenants from hearing the abducted boy’s cry for help.

Keshi Consent To Coach Bafana Bafana of South Africa

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has agreed a two-year contract to handle South Africa after the World Cup as several top European coaches have indicated interest to lead the Super Eagles.
Keshi’s future has not been clear even though he still has a year left on his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The coach himself recently revealed that he has at least six offers on the table.
However, according to sources, Keshi will jet out from Brazil directly to Johannesburg to sign a two-year deal with the South Africa Football Federation (SAFA) immediately after the World Cup.

Four Edo lawmakers lose bid to stop suspension

An application by the four suspended Edo State House of Assembly members, seeking to set aside an earlier order of a state High Court, barring them from attending House sittings, was, yesterday, refused by the trial judge, Justice V. Eboreime, who said that hearing the motion would amount to turning the law on its head.The four suspended Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lawmakers, had also sought to get the court to stay further proceedings in the matter.The suspended lawmakers had approached the court through their counsel, Chief Fred Orbih, SAN, to set aside the interim injunction restraining them from the state House of Assembly and their residential quarters pending the determination of the suit.

“I’m dropping an explosive album with D’banj soon” – Tonto Dikeh

Nollywood Actress cum Duchess of D’banj’s DB records, Tonto Dikeh, aka Poko Lee, in a chat with Hip TV stated that her fans and critics should watch out for an explosive album from her.

Speaking on her new deal with D’banj, she said, “I feel great, I feel honoured, I feel blessed, like I have butterflies in my stomach. I am excited about everything. I’m overjoyed. And how it happened, I do not know. It just worked itself out. I don’t think my fans are expecting exactly what I’m about to give to them. Because I’m even surprised about what I’m about to give to them. So, it’s something that nobody expects. I don’t expect you to actually expect what I’m about to do. But yes, there will be an album, an explosive one, good stuff coming out real soon. We are not joking at all.”

Two statues from among thousands of works of art looted by British soldiers in the 19th century have been returned to Nigeria, prompting calls for other “stolen” treasures to be repatriated.

 
For more than a century, the artifacts from the “Benin Bronzes” collection had been in the family of retired medical consultant Mark Walker, whose grandfather was involved in a 1897 British raid in which they were taken.

With the security challenges in parts of the country remaining unabated and general elections few months away, the Otaru of Igarra in Edo State, Oba Adeche Saiki, has called for total implementation of the state of emergency declared in three states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa with the removal of all democratic structure and appointment of sole administrators to enable military and other security personnel take charge of the security of the states.
 
Besides, he advised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to conduct election in the affected states.
 
Speaking to journalists in his palace in Igarra, Oba Saiki said, “As regards the insecurity that the country is going through, my candid opinion is that it looks more political as it seems ordinary otherwise the emergency rule that is placed on three states in the North East should be total in the sense that, all the civilian governors should be removed and put a sole administrator there preferably a retired military man so that the military can actually have control of the situation otherwise some politicians will still try to do other things negatively on the issue.

6 Nigerians Arrested for Forging Ghanaian President’s Letterheads

Six Nigerians have been arrested for allegedly forging letterheads of the Office of the Ghanaian President and other state institutions to defraud people, a Ghanaian newspaper reported on Friday. They are Paul Kelvin, 20; Wallace Darden Odon, 28; Osamidiamwen Ikechukwu Emeka, 24; Prince Ejime, 19; Charles Chinedu, 32, and Adebayo Alaba Saheed, 21.

They are all unemployed. They have since been charged with forging documents and signatures and posing as state officials, and because they gave false names to the police during interrogation, they have also been charged with deceit of public officers. The Accra Regional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police Paul Kontomah, said the suspects were arrested in a house at Ayensu Estate, near Adenta in Accra, on June 9. Among the letters retrieved from the suspects was one directing a former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to take his compulsory leave for Mr Mohammed Alhassan, the current IGP, to take over the position. There were also certificates signed by the Minister of Interior, Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, to prove the origins of some American citizens, as well as High Court disclaimer forms. Mr Kontomah said the police, acting on intelligence that the young men were involved in criminal activities, swooped on them in the early hours of June 9 “and we found them busy browsing the Internet in their room with laptops.”

Ekiti 2014: Obanikoro In Ekiti, A Cause For Concern?

Since the Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro arrived in Ekiti Monday night preparatory to the Saturday governorship election in the state, there has been some sorts of uneasy calm as to why he was in town. Such a misgiving was however made plausible owing to some of the recent undertakings by the minister.
