THIS DAY reported that since his election in 2011, Okorocha who attended the ceremony for the first time this year and that at some point, the festival turned into a political rally of sorts with Okorocha and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, relentlessly fighting for supremacy.
The Mbaise people were not impressed with Okorocha's behavior and so his microphone was intermittently switched off for as long as five minutes, while the people jeered at him.
When the Governor's microphone was switched off a second time during the event, a free for all between Okorocha’s supporters and those of Ihedioha broke but the security personnel on ground contained it in good time before whisking the governor away to safety.
