Mr. Erastus Akingbola, erstwhile MD/CEO of former
Intercontinental Bank, is facing trial for a N47 billion fraud.
Justice Babajide Lawal-Akapo of an Ikeja high court, Lagos, has further adjourned the trial of the former MD/CEO of Intercontinental Bank plc, Erastus Akingbola, to March 24th, 25th, and 27th 2014 respectively.
Mr. Akingbola and Bayo Dada, who were billed for re-arraignment, are facing a 22-count charge of conspiracy and stealing on N47.1 billion belonging to the defunct Intercontinental Bank (now Access Bank Plc).
The trial began in 2011 but has been continually stalled due to the transfer of the case to different judges. Mr. Lawal-Akapo is the third judge to preside over the trial.
